Rockingham Community College suspends woodworking programs

WENTWORTH, NC – Rockingham Community College is dropping two woodworking programs due to low enrollment.


According to The News Record, Rockingham officials announced the community college would suspend woodworking technology and creative woodworking. The college is also dispensing with its human resource management program. The three programs will cease after spring 2010, allowing currently enrolled students to complete their studies.


The News Record quoted RCC President Robert Keys, as saying, “Certainly, the budget restrictions didn’t help, but low enrollment was the main consideration” for suspending the three programs.
