CHICAGO – Richardson Seating Corp. , a manufacturer of bar stool and restaurant furniture, said it would no longer publish a hardcover paper catalog and would instead use an online catalog and price list.

The company said it was making this change in an effort to reduce its carbon footprint and become a greener organization.  The company has used a print catalog for more than 30 years to promote its product to the trade.

Scott Lichtenstein, vice president of Richardson Furniture, said, “I think it will be a big deal for some of our older customers. Not everyone uses the Internet for the purpose of catalogs. Some of our competitors still use paper catalogs. Many of our customers are now bringing laptops with them on sales calls. They can pull up our distributor friendly Web site at the client’s location or save images on their computer before the sales call.”
