SPOKANE, WA – Potlatch Corp. announced that its manufacturing subsidiary will be taking downtime at three saw mills, one plywood plant and one particleboard plant due to continuing poor market conditions.
The Lewiston, ID, sawmill will be down Nov. 10 and will resume production on Dec. 1. The Gwinn, MI, stud mill will be down Nov. 17 through Nov. 30 and will resume production on Dec. 1. The St. Maries, ID, plywood plant will be down Nov. 10 through 14. Production will resume on Nov. 17, stop again Nov. 24, and resume regular production on Dec.1. The entire Bemidji, MN, stud mill, which already took one shift down Oct. 27 through Nov. 7, will be down Nov. 10 through Nov. 14 and will resume production on Nov. 17. The Post Falls, ID, particleboard plant is currently down and will remain down until orders increase.
