Six hundred pounds of
marijuana was found in
this hollowed-out plywood.

MONROE, LA –

Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Deputies of the Interstate Crimes Enforcement team confiscated 600 pounds of marijuana hidden in a hollowed-out stack of plywood being transported on a flat bed truck on Sunday night.

Upon being stopped by police, the suspect said he was hauling a load of plywood from Houston to Vicksburg, MS, to build a new house roof for his aunt. During the conversation, police noticed that the plywood appeared to have been “altered and restacked.” The suspect then stated that the plywood had been hollowed out to store 600 pounds of marijuana.

The suspect was booked into Ouachita Correctional Center on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
