NUEMARKT, GERMANY -- Pfleiderer Holzwerkstoffe GmbH, an international manufacturer of wood panels and flooring, announced plans to close a particleboard plant in Ebersdorf and an MDF plant in Nidda, Germany.

In its press release, Pfleiderer officials said the impending closures were due "to market overcapacity for raw particleboard and raw MDF."

The closures will effect approximately 300 employees.

Pfleiderer's holdings in North America include Uniboard MDF and particleboard mills and a Pergo laminate flooring plant.
