WASHINGTON – Pella Corp. of Pella, IA, recalled approximately 6,500 casement windows due to a potential impact hazard.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Pella received one report of a hinge breaking, causing the sash to fall. No injuries were reported.

The recall includes the company’s Architect Series and 850 Series casement windows sold between September 2007 and April 2009.

Consumers are urged to stop using the window and contact Pella for a free repair.
