PELLA, IA — Pella Corp., a residential window and door manufacturer, on Jan. 29 announced that it plans to lay off 14 more seasonal workers next month, citing the continuing downturn in the housing market, according to fxstreet.com.
The company announced earlier this month that it planned to close its Story City, IA, factory in March, leaving 244 workers without jobs. It also announced layoffs for 40 seasonal workers in Pella, IA, the company's headquarters. The new round of layoffs will take place Feb. 11 at the Pella factory, which will employ about 3,600 after the layoffs.
