PELLA, IA -- Pella Corp., a window and door manufacturer, has acquired MO-based EFCO Corp., a manufacturer of aluminum-clad storefront windows, glass curtain walls and other products for commercial buildings, according to the Des Moines Register. The acquisition significantly increases Pella's reach into the commercial building industry.

EFCO employs about 1,600 people at its plant in Monett, MO, and will continue to operate under the EFCO brand name as a unit of Pella. The addition of EFCO's work force boosts Pella's total employment to more than 10,600, the company said. Both companies are privately held, and terms were not disclosed. Read more.
