line of CNC spindles at AWFS Fair for Precision
Drive Systems.

LAS VEGAS – Precision Drive Systems displayed a pair of new products for the first time at the AWFS Fair.

The company’s XLS90 series features the new Dyna-Loc automatic tool changing system for HSK-32E style tool holders. Bob Jewel, vice president of sales and marketing for PDS’ office in Bessemer City, NC, said advantages include elimination of traditional drawbar and spring packs and clamping sets. The spindle is more compact and provides improved spindle balance, Jewel added.

The second new product, the XLS 12- series electric spindles, features HSK 63-F automatic tool change. The series is manufactured at PDS’ North Carolina facility and in Germany. The fan-cooled model is capable of delivering 10 kilowatts at S1 – 100% duty cycle in a compact frame size. Push button control facilitates manual quick tool change. It is equipped with a Robo-style tool changer and a single air line input enables all pneumatic connections.

PDS was founded in 1996 and is the authorized sales and service center for Giordano Colombo electric spindle. The company inventories hundreds of various spindle configurations to a wide variety of machining application in three specific industries: wood/plastic/non-ferrous materials; stone and marble; and metalworking. Other product offerings include tooling aggregates, multi-spindle boring units and variable frequency drives.
