LEESBURG, VA -- North American shipments of particleboard, MDF and hardboard increased 2.7% in June 2010 compared to June 2009, according to the Composite Panel Association's Market Barometer.
 
Compared to last month shipments were flat at 503.3 million square feet (MMSF) (3/4” basis) as a total for all three product lines.

Particleboard shipments were up 10.5% to 294 MMSF (3/4” basis) from the same month a year ago, MDF (3/4” basis) was down 8.1% to 170 MMSF, and hardboard was flat at 239 MMSF (1/8” basis). Overall panel shipments were 503 MMSF (3/4” basis) compared to 490 MMSF in June 2009.
