LEESBURG, VA -- Shipments of North American composite panels inched up 1% in January to 443 million square feet (MMSF 3/4-inch basis) compared to the same period in 2010, according to the Composite Panel Association.

CPA said particleboard shipments totaled 260 MMSF (3/4-inch basis), up from 257 MMSF in January 2010; MDF shipments were 150 MMSF (3/4-inch basis) compared to 149 MMSF and hardboard shipments were 203 MMSF (1/8-inch basis), up from 187 MMSF.
