LEESBURG, VA -- CPA’s July Market Barometer reports Shipments of North American composite panel producers declined 10% compared to last month at 451 MMSF (3/4” basis), according to the Composite Panel Association's July Market Barometer.
Shipments of particleboard, MDF and hardboard for July were down down 2% compared to July 2009.
The CPA said particleboard shipments were down 12% to 258 MMSF (3/4” basis) from last month, but up 2% compared to the same month one year ago. MDF shipments were 151.8 MMSF (3/4” basis), down 10% from last month and down 9% from last year. Hardboard was up 2% over last month at 243 MMSF (1/8” basis) and down 2% compared to July 2009.
Overall, year-to-date 2010 panel shipments rose 6% through July compared to the same period in 2009.
