GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Orders of U.S. office furniture were up 1% in July to $940 million, compared to July of 2007, while year-to-date orders are flat, according to Reuters. Reportedly, the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Assn. (BIFMA) said the year-to-date sales indicate double-digit declines in 2009.

BIFMA said it expects full-year orders and shipments to fall 2.4% and 3.9%, respectively. Additionally, BIFMA is projecting a drop in orders and shipments of slightly more than 10% in 2009. Read more.
