NEW YORK -- New York's First Lady Silda Wall Spitzer has announced two environmental initiatives to promote green buildings, according to WNYC. Beginning next year, a number of state construction projects will have to meet new, nationally-accepted environmental standards for water use, air quality, and the materials and energy used. Gov. Eliot Spitzer will also propose legislation that offers direct incentives for homeowners to make their houses more efficient. Read more.
