CHICAGO — The North American Building Material Distribution Assn., a multi-segment trade association representing the wholesale distributors of specialty building products and woodworking materials, on Dec. 17 announced that Len Kopec has been elected president of the association.

Kopec, president and CEO of The Wolf Organization in York, PA, has more than 35 years of distribution industry experience and has been actively involved with NBMDA, serving on the association’s Executive Committee and holding a variety of volunteer positions over the years.

“We are fortunate to have Len as president this year,” said Kevin Gammonley, NBMDA’s executive vice president. “His strong leadership qualities, passion for the industry and ability to execute on business objectives makes him the perfect fit to lead the association during 2008.”

The NBMDA also announced its 2008 Board of Directors. Responsible for governing all affairs of the organization within its by-laws, the NBMDA Board is comprised of both Distributor and Associate members within the industry.

Officers serving one-year terms include President-Elect Duane Lambrecht of Shelter Products Inc., New Ulm, MN; Vice President Bill Delaney of Distributor Service Inc., Carnegie, PA; Treasurer Mark Kasper of Amerhart Ltd., Green Bay, WI; and Immediate Past President Roger Debnam of Würth Wood Group, Charlotte, NC.

Serving three-year terms as Distributor Directors are Carl Liliequist of Honolulu Wood Treating Co., Kapolei, HI; Tom Mauss of Louis and Co., Brea, CA; Brian Schell of Parksite Plunkett-Webster, Apex, NC; Harold Tiemstra of Can Cell Industries, Edmonton, AB; Marty Wojick of Atlantic Plywood Corp., Woburn, MA; and Ken Harris of A&M Supply, Pinellas Park, FL.

Associate Directors serving one-year terms are Chas Koop of Armstrong, Lancaster, PA, and Rick Liddell of VT Industries Inc., Holstein, IA. Those serving two-year terms are Dave Clark of Dow Building Solutions, Crystal Lake, IL, and Wave Oglesby of Columbia Forest Products, Greensboro, NC.
