NAHB Honors Builders for Exemplary Green Building Practices

WASHINGTON -- 14 members of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) were honored for exemplary green building practices Mar. 26 during the 9th annual NAHB National Green Building Conference.

The number of entries in the National Green Building Awards competition was triple the number submitted for the 2006 awards, noted NAHB Green Building Subcommittee Chair Ray Tonjes, “This interest is an indication of the explosive growth in green building, and NAHB members are at the forefront of this movement,” he said.

Builder and educator Ron Jones, the 2006 Builder Advocate of the Year, served as Master of Ceremonies for the awards dinner. The guest speaker was Peter Raven, a Time magazine “Hero of the Planet” and a noted expert in plant biology and science.
