Most Taiwanese plywood passes watchdog's formaldehyde test
TAIPEI -- The Consumers Foundation, a Taiwanese watchdog group, said that 11 of 12 brands of plywood it randomly chose at home improvement stores, passed safety starndard tests for formaldehyde emissiions.

According to the Taipei Times, the group said the brand that failed exceeded Taiwan's formaldedhye emission limit by seven times.

Auhtorities have ordered the substandard plywood to be taken off the shelves. The manufacturer hs reporteldy halted production.
