TUSCALOOSA, AL - Industry sources have confirmed that Modern Woodworking will formally close operations after its October issue is mailed.

The monthly magazine, owned by Randall-Reilly Media, is the latest industrial woodworking publication casualty of the economic downturn.

Cygnus Business Media shut down Wood Digest in July, immediately following the AWFS Fair in Las Vegas. During the AWFS Fair, Watt Publishing announced plans to consolidate CabinetMaker and FDM titles into one publication. The merged publication, CabinetMaker+FDM debuted in September.
