Doug Mockett, of the namesake furniture hardware and components company, set a new class record in winning the Vintage Division at the 88th “Race to the Clouds” Pikes Peak Hill Climb in Colorado on June 27.

Driving with pro rally navigator Angelica Fuentes, Mockett drove a 630-hp 1954 Oldsmobile Super 88 up the 12 ½ mile course, with 156 turns and a 5,000-foot, ending at the summit of Pikes Peak at 14,100 feet.
 
“It was a challenge and a pleasure to have attained a new record, especially by the huge margin of 51 seconds," said Doug Mockett, owner of Doug Mocket & Co. Inc. “We’ll be back to try to do even better in 2011. We aren’t going to rest on our laurels!”
