MN Business Fined for Pollution Violations

AVON, MN -- Prefinishing Specialists Inc., a wood-finishing subsidiary of Western Building Products of Milwaukee, has agreed to pay a $12,082 fine for violating state hazardous waste and air quality rules, according to the St. Cloud Times. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) discovered the violations during inspections in February, the agency reported.

In addition to paying the civil penalty, the company already has completed a series of actions to ensure it is complying with the terms of its hazardous waste and air quality permits, the MPCA stated.
