MeadWestvaco to Close MA Plant

RICHMOND, VA — Packaging and paper company MeadWestvaco Corp. will close its specialty papers plant in South Lee, MA. by the end of 2007, according to Forbes.com. This facility mainly produces overlays for laminate flooring products. The company blames declining demand, shifting technology and overseas imports for the closure, which will result in the elimination of about 70 jobs. Read more.
