PROVIDENCE, RI --

Furniture maker Kevin Mack of Malden, MA, won “Best in Show -- Traditional Furniture” at the Fine Furnishings Providence Show for the second year in a row. He also won “Best in Show – Student Work” in 2007.

“I did not expect to win again this year, but I do feel that an entire year’s worth of hard work has been rewarded,” said Mack on accepting the award.

Kevin Mack designs and builds 17th through mid-20th century reproduction furniture as well as one-of-a-kind originals. He is a third generation furniture maker.

Mack said that the Providence show is a proving ground for him. He wants to push the limits of his craft and creativity by building imaginative, high quality, sometimes eccentric pieces.
