SPARTA, WI – MacDonald & Owen Lumber Co. is celebrating 40 years in the hardwood lumber industry.

For MacDonald & Owen Lumber Co., the year of its 40th anniversary marked continued expansion within the hardwood lumber industry. Not only did the company expand its business by opening a facility in the northeast, but it also began efforts in exporting to countries such as Mexico, China, Vietnam and the United Kingdom. Additionally, the year of the company’s 40th anniversary included the expansion of products available to its customers. MacDonald & Owen Lumber Co.’s certification by the Forest Stewardship Council also gives its customers extended access to products that are FSC certified.

With the expansion into new markets and products offered, the company also found itself expanding its workspace and staff to keep up with the recent growth. A building project that doubled the size of offices through which customers are serviced was necessary and promptly completed at the start of 2008 to keep up with the company’s continual growth.
