M and J Woodcrafts attains EPP downstream certification
DELTA, BC - M and J Woodcrafts has become EPP Downstream certified to the highest level at 95% through the Composite Panel Assn.’s Environmentally Preferable Product program.

Criteria for EPP certified particleboard and MDF panels includes composition of 100% recycled or recovered wood fiber and achievement of CARB Phase 1 formaldehyde emission levels.

Michael Williams, president of M and J Woodcrafts, said, “Although we’ve been an environmentally responsible company since day one, becoming certified is important to us because it not only helps to reflect our company’s core values, but it solidifies our commitments so that our customers know that they’re getting a sound, quality product each time.”

M and J Woodcrafts has other green initiatives in the works. Beginning in 2010, the company plans to launch a new recycling program for its customers. M and J will offer a service to help customers recycle retired cabinets to keep them out of landfills.
