Kindel Furniture Under New Management

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Kindel Furniture Co., a high-end furniture manufacturer, has undergone a management change in an attempt to reverse a five-year decline in sales.

According to the <I>Business Review,<I> Jonathan Smith has been appointed interim president and CEO. He replaced Robert Fogarty and his daughter, Paula Fogarty Scott, who were recently removed from their respective positions as chairman and president of the 106-year-old company.
Smith told the Business Review that Kindel will try to resurge sales by more aggressively pursuing high-end hotels and markets in Russia and the Middle East.

Smith said the 170,000-square-foot Kindel plant, which employs about 130 people, will remain in Grand Rapids.
