Kimball plants receive environmental awards

JASPER, IN -- Kimball Office’s manufacturing facilities in Post Falls, ID, and Jasper, IN, have been recognized for implementing environmental strategies that strive to eliminate or minimize pollutants before they are generated.

“For 40 years, Kimball Office has designed and produced office furnishings that keep the environment in mind. We are honored to receive recognition from the governors of Idaho and Indiana for our sustainable business practices, and the positive impact our company plays on the environment, employees, and local communities,” said Steven Brewster, director of sustainability for Kimball.

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality awarded the Post Falls plant as a “Pollution Prevention Champion” on Sept. 13. The Jasper facility received the “Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence in Pollution Prevention” on Sept. 15. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management, the Lieutenant Governor’s Office of Energy and Defense Development, Indiana Department of Administration, and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources support that award.
