GREEN BAY, WI – The Association of College and University Housing Officers International has selected a collaborative entry from KI and RATIO Architects Inc. as a finalist in the 21st Century Project Design Showcase: the Future of College Housing. The two companies were chosen as one of eight finalists from a total of 46 submissions. They will present their designs to a jury on January 26.

To compete, designers, students, architects and college housing professionals from around the world submitted design proposals for the individual student living unit. Each entrant was tasked with incorporating concepts such as flexibility, sustainability, student development, security and technology into their ideas for residence hall rooms and suites 25 years into the future.

KI and RATIO’s submission focused on the process of students developing their own customized, modular living spaces at a fictional university. The other seven finalists, in alphabetical order, are:
