KCMA Receives State and National Commendations on New ESP

RESTON, VA – Recently, the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Assn. (KCMA) and several of its members were recognized for their commitment to environmental preservation through the association’s new Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP).

At the KCMA’s annual meeting, held June 5, the association presented commendations from the Virginia General Assembly to several of its ESP-certified members with manufacturing facilities in Virginia. The recognized members companies include: American Woodmark Corp., Winchester, VA; Custom Wood Products LLC, Roanoke, VA; Merillat Industries Inc., a part of Masco Corp., Culpeper and Atkins, VA; MasterBrand Cabinets Inc., Martinsville, VA; the Mid Continent Division of Norcraft Companies LP, Lynchburg, VA; and Yorktowne Cabinetry, a division of Elkay Mfg. Co., Ringgold, VA.

Rebuilding Together, the nation’s largest volunteer organization for preserving and revitalizing low-income houses and communities, also recognized the association. KCMA was recognized for supporting Rebuilding Together’s goal of making a sustainable impact in partnership with the community.

The ESP emphasizes environmental preservation with requirements of sustainably managed/harvested wood, low emission products, recycling and other product/process requirements that benefit the environment.
