KCMA Launches Green Web Site

RESTON, VA – The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Assn. recently launched a new Web site – GreenCabinetSource.org – devoted to KCMA’s Environmental Stewardship Program and promoting environmentally sound practices.

The new Web site serves as a resource for consumers and building professionals to learn about ESP certified cabinets, a program established by the KCMA in 2006 that recognizes and encourages environmental responsibility within the cabinet industry. Approximately 90 companies have achieved ESP certification.

Dick Titus, executive vice president of the KCMA, said, “With the success of the ESP within the cabinet industry, we think this is a great time to introduce the program to consumers and building professionals through the launch of the Web site. GreenCabinetSource.org is a major step for the Environmental Stewardship Program and one that moves us closer to accomplishing our objective of leading the industry towards a sustainable future.”

The Web site explains the ESP and criteria for certification. It also includes information on sustainable forestry, low product emissions, recycling and energy conservation. Links to ESP-certified cabinet companies are also provided.
