July U.S. Furniture Order Growth Increases

U.S. office furniture order growth accelerated in July, following several months of erratic growth that analysts said point to a moderating market, according to Reuters. Reportedly, the Business and Institutional Manufacturers Assn. said industry orders rose 13% from the same period last year to $850 million.

Industry information for June showed 2% growth, compared to a double-digit growth in orders on the year in May. This followed a slower month in April. According to BIFMA data, orders in March showed double-digit growth. Shipments rose 1% in June to $820 million, according to BIFMA information.
