KLAMATH FALLS, OR — Jeld-Wen, a manufacturer of windows and doors, plans to lay off nearly 50 people from its corporate administrative staff, according to KTVZ.com.  The company decided to trim its staff in response to the recession and declining housing starts that have fallen from more than 2 million in 2005 to an estimated 600,000 for this year.
