Jeld-Wen to close Oshkosh, WI, plant

KLAMATH FALLS, OR — Window and door manufacturer Jeld-Wen Inc. has announced plans to close its door manufacturing plant in Oshkosh, WI, putting 79 employees out of work, according to The Business Journal of Milwaukee. The company informed plant employees of the pending closure June 5, and plans to close the plant by Aug. 7.

The announcement comes about two weeks after Jeld-Wen informed Wisconsin state officials that, because of a “severe slump in the housing and construction industries,” it expects the current layoff of 247 employees from a window plant in Hawkins, WI, will be extended.
