James L. Taylor to Build New Factory

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – James L. Taylor Mfg. Co. completed the purchase of property from the city of Poughkeepsie to build a facility for manufacturing woodworking equipment.

According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, Taylor paid $112,000 for the parcel. The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reportedly had eyed the same piece of property to potentially expand the county jail.

The property is adjacent to Taylor’s current factory. Taylor President Michael Burdis told the Journal that his company’s new facility would cost between $1 million and $2 million to construct. Read more from Nov. 15 and Nov. 19 Journal articles.
