CHESAPEAKE, VA  -- A Norfolk-based investor group has anted up $6 million to purchase the 21-acre parcel formerly home to the Chesapeake Hardwood Products plywood plant.

The Virginia Pilot reported that the 457,500-square-foot building is now owned by 201 Dexter LLC, an affiliate of Norfolk-based First Home Properties LLC.

Chesapeake Hardwood Products filed for bankruptcy in January; Eden Pellets, a wood pellet manufacturer occupies 60,000 square feet of the building.

The new owner reportedly is seeking new tenants for vacant portion of the facility.
