COLOGNE, GERMANY – Interzum, the international furniture supply show held May 9-12, experienced rises in exhibitors and attendees, reversing downward trends that have prevailed in recent years.

Utilizing the Cologne Fairground’s northern halls for the first time, exhibit space increased by 10%; 1,381 companies exhibited. More than 50,000 visitors attended from 127 countries.

“Interzum has strengthened and consolidated its position as the leading fair,” said Wolfgang Kranz, executive director of the Cologne Fairgrounds.

Hubert Schwarz, member of the Interzum advisory board and executive direcgtor of Julius Blum GmbH, said, “The great expectations, which we have placed in this Interzum, have been completely fulfilled – not only due to the high internationality of the event, but also particularly in relation to the number of German visitors. Overall, Interzum has been fantastic.”

The next Interzum is scheduled for May 13-16, 2009.
