IKEA Recalls Chest of Drawers

WASHINGTONIKEA, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, has issued a voluntary recall to repair approximately 5,000 chest of drawers. An additional 26,000 units were sold outside the United States.

According to the CPSC, the glass door knobs on the chest can break either during assembly or I use, posing a laceration hazard. IKEA has received three reports of laceration injuries requiring medical attention. An additional 11 injuries occurred outside the United States.

Consumers are urged to contact IKEA to receive free replacement knobs and screws by mail. U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
