RESTON, VA — The Hardwood Plywood and Veneer Assn. recently announced that it is offering enhanced services for product testing and certification program needs. The association said the services are in response to the new California formaldehyde product emission standards taking effect in January 2009, and more related requirements in other environmental stewardship programs on the near horizon.
The association has made upgrades in its pre-conditioning room to meet stringent, new requirements for zero background levels, added new DNPH analytical testing capability, and new small scale chamber capacity for quality control testing at its Reston, VA, testing facility.
HPVA says it has completed or is near completion of the certification requirements for the International Accreditation Service , ISO 65 and California Third Party Certification , and that its Reston facility has sufficient capacity to meet the testing needs of both association members and non-members of the association.
HPVA has also contracted with a certified testing facility in Springfield, OR, to provide a more convenient western test location. This testing laboratory can perform the large scale formaldehyde chamber test and the small scale chamber test, both for CARB certification.
