WASHINGTON --  Oxmoor House Inc. of Birmingham, AL, announced the recall of approximately 540,000 home improvement books due to faulty wiring directions.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the publisher recalled some 951,000 home improvement books in January due to similar problems.wi

"The books contain errors in the technical diagrams and wiring instructions that could lead consumers to incorrectly install or repair electrical wiring, posing an electrical shock or fire hazard to consumers," CPSC said.

The recall involves 17 home improvement books, most of them include "Southern Living" or "Sunset" in their title. All of the recalled titles are out of print and were last sold by retailers in 2005. However, CPSC said they are likely still on bookshelves in consumers' homes.
