Holden Clarke, Chairman, Clarke Veneers and Plywood, Dies at 79

JACKSON, MS – Holden Mast Clarke, chairman of Clarke Veneers and Plywood, died Tuesday, Nov. 20 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS, at the age of 79. Clarke was the fourth generation of his family to be involved in the veneer and plywood industry. Clarke joined the company in 1954, and served as president until the late 1990s.

He was a long-time member of the Hardwood Plywood Veneer Assn. and served on the board of directors. Additionally, he was active in the International Hardwood Products Assn., and a long-time member of the Canadian Hardwood Plywood Assn. and The Fine Hardwoods – American Walnut Assn. The HPVA will make a contribution to the Hardwood Forestry Fund in his memory.
