HNI Corp. Announces Additional Layoffs
MUSCATINE, IA – HNI Corp. has eliminated more jobs at its Muscatine plant because of sluggish office furniture sales, according to the Chicago Tribune. The company made the announcement on Jan. 8, but Vice President Gary Carlson would not disclose how many jobs were lost.

The company chose not to release the number of layoffs because of the difficulty in making sure it is accurate. In October, HNI Corp. announced it would layoff up to 200 Muscatine employees. Carlson said some employees were asked to resign while others were laid off.
