HIRI Elects Hickory Hardware’s Fields as VP

NASHVILLE, TN — Hickory Hardware, a designer, manufacturer and marketer of decorative, functional and industrial hardware for furniture and cabinets, on May 30 announced that David Fields, the company’s marketing channel manager, is the newly-elected vice president of the Home Improvement Research Institute , a membership-based, independent, not-for-profit organization of the home improvement industry.

In this position, Fields will assist in leading the institute in home research projects that gauge trends in the market and profile the characteristics, attitudes and buying behaviors of consumer and professional remodeling customers.

“David’s experience in market research and dedication to HIRI translates to effective and astute observations in committee meetings,” said Richard Johnston, senior research analyst at HIRI. “I am confident he will continue to provide the solid and thoughtful guidance he’s known for in his role as vice president.”

In his current role at Hickory Hardware, Fields is responsible for guiding marketing strategy, planning and execution, as well as leading market research. Additionally, he has served as an adjunct professor of marketing research at Belmont University, and brings to HIRI over 20 years of experience in the marketing and research field.
