ATLANTA – Haverty Furniture Companies Inc., an Atlanta-based furniture retailer with 123 showrooms in 17 states, reported earnings for the third quarter, ended Sept. 30. Net income for the quarter was $643,000 compared to $4.1 million during the same period of 2006, a 84.4% decrease. For the nine months ended Sept. 30, net income was $123,000, compared to a net income of $12.8 million for the first nine months of 2006.
