Hardwood Forestry Fund seeks donations

RESTON, VA – The Hardwood Forestry Fund hopes to raise $40,000 to carry out seven tree planting projects in the spring of 2010.

A total of 100,000 hardwood trees, including red oak, white oak, black cherry, black walnut, butternut, sugar maple, basswood, hickory and other species would be planted on about 200 acres of forestland.

“If 80 companies each made a tax-deductible donation of $500 to the HFF, all seven projects can be achieved,” the HFF stated in a press release. “Donations of all sizes are welcome and encouraged.”
