KENOVA, WV â Industry veteran James âJimâ C. Hamer, 73, passed away March 17 after a long battle with cancer.
Hamer was the president of Jim C. Hamer Cos. and a past president of both the National Hardwood Lumber Assn. and the Appalachian Hardwood Manufacturers Inc. He was also inducted into the West Virginia Agriculture and Forestry Hall of Fame.
Hamer is survived by his wife Gladys, children Lori, Jim (Lesley) and Steve (Donna), and six grandchildren.
