- After a 5-month courageous battle with kidney cancer, industry veteran Andy Glowa passed away peacefully on July 11 at Connecticut Hospice facility in Branford, CT.
"We are deeply saddened by our loss but are so thankful for the 10=plus years Andy was part of our team'" said Karin Deutschler, president of GUHDO, where Glowa last worked. "He will always be with us in spirit.. Always pleasant, very knowledgeable, pleased to help where needed and so likeable, Andy will always be remembered as a respected colleague, team player and friend. We will miss him dearly. Our sincere condolences go to his family."
Glowa was involved in the woodworking industry for over 25 years, working first with SCM Machinery Group for many years as parts department manager. He came to GUHDO in 2000 as technical sales engineer.
In 2007, he took an 18-month break from tooling sales and joined Biesse Machinery Group as a sales manager which required a lot of travel. Being the dedicated family man he was, the extensive travel schedule was too much and he returned to GUHDO.
