WASHINGTON — From 2009 to 2013, the green building industry will add $554 billion to the U.S. gross domestic product, according to a new report from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and Booz Allen Hamilton. Over that span, the green building sector should create about 7.9 million jobs, compared to 2.4 million from 2000-08, the report states.
