Smith & Fong in 1992

Bamboo plywood and flooring manufacturer, Smith & Fong Co. celebrates 20 years this month. The company converted a tea-processing plant in the Chinese countryside to produce bamboo flooring in 1993, becoming the first American company to import bamboo flooring into the domestic marketplace. Since the mid-‘90s Smith & Fong has significantly expanded its range and variety of flooring and sheet-good products. In January 2008, Smith & Fong was the first company to achieve FSC certification for its bamboo resource.
