Furniture Brands Reports $341.6 Million 4Q Loss

ST. LOUIS – Furniture Brands Intl said it suffered a $341.6 million loss in its fourth quarter.

Write offs for closings of plants and retail outlets were among one-time charges impacting the company’s bottom line. For the year, FBI reported sales of $1.74 billion, down 16.3% from the prior year.

Ralph Scozzafava, chairman and CEO said, “We are doing the right things and taking the right actions in the midst of an unprecedented economic downturn.”
