FSC praises Canadian Boreal Forest plan
MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) applauded the "historic forest management agreement," in which the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) and nine environmental organizations pledged to work together in the management and conservation of 173 million acres of Canada’s globally significant boreal forest.

“This agreement shows that when it comes to protecting forest health, there is no comparison. FSC is the gold standard for forest management,” said Corey Brinkema, president of FSC-US. He added, “This is a great win for Canadian forests, the source of the much of the wood and paper used in the United States. We look forward to working with FPAC and the environmental groups to help implement this agreement in the years to come.”
