Flexsteel Cuts 21 Jobs

DUBUQUE, IA – Flexsteel Industries Inc. confirmed that it cut 21 hourly jobs at its Dubuque factory, according to THonline.com

The company cited the economy and rising gas prices for the latest round of layoffs. Reportedly, the company also cut office positions from the plant.

Company spokesman Justin Mills said Flexsteel is hopeful that the layoffs will be temporary. “We’re in a tough economy right now — there’s no doubt about it,” Mills said. “With the slowdown in retail, it’s impacting all of our divisions, but the vehicle seating (division) is getting hit hardest.”
